Healing should be accessible to everyone, and here at the Community Shala, we bring together holistic wellbeing services, trusted practitioners and community support to help people across Pembrokeshire feel better, build resilience and reconnect with themselves.
Through the Community Shala, clients can explore their own journey towards better health and wellbeing through services such as somatic healing, yoga, meditation and mindfulness, as well as working with independent practitioners providing complementary healing therapies and support. At the Community Shala, everyone is welcome. We offer subsidised and funded opportunities for people facing financial or social barriers.

Who we are
Shala means home in Sanskrit. For us, the Community Shala is a metaphorical home – a place where people can come as they are, explore wellbeing, connect with themselves and others, and find the support they need. The Community Shala offers safe, trauma-informed spaces to facilitate opportunities for healing and personal growth. We bring together our own wellbeing practices, independent practitioners and community organisations to create a more connected and collaborative approach to health and wellbeing in Pembrokeshire.
What we do
We provide practices such as Somatic Healing, Yoga, nervous system awareness, meditation and mindfulness, while working with local independent practitioners who offer complimentary therapies such as Bowen Therapy, acupuncture and other holistic approaches. Alongside this, our directory helps people discover organisations and services across Pembrokeshire that can support their wellbeing, health, community connection and personal growth. Our long-term vision is to bring this network together within a physical community wellbeing hub.

How we do it
We aim to make wellbeing more accessible by offering low-cost, subsidised and community wellbeing sessions. We promote community connection through regular events, such as our monthly Community Calm, bringing people together to pause, regulate, reconnect and reset. And we continue to build the directory with our collaborative network of practitioners, charities, social enterprises and community organisations.
We believe wellbeing doesn't happen in isolation. That's why we're building relationships with practitioners already doing incredible work across Pembrokeshire. Our community partners are the therapists and practitioners we are actively collaborating with. As partners, they offer sliding scale payment options, as well as opportunities for fully funded and subsidised sessions when booked via the Shala.

Cost shouldn't be a barrier to accessing support. We are developing a funded and subsidised programme so that people experiencing financial or social barriers can access wellbeing practices and therapies that might otherwise be out of reach. Some sessions will be offered on a sliding scale, while fully funded or partially funded places will be available through our community funding programme.
The Community Shala can help people access wellbeing support if they cannot afford it. Simply fill out the application form via the button below to apply for a funded or subsidised place.
